Rooms Held in Colour — Fictional Exhibition
Upcoming demo exhibition · 6–29 November 2026 · The Painted Room, an imagined venue.
Fictional exhibition — demonstration only. Julian Demowells and The Painted Room are invented. This announcement illustrates the exhibition feature; there is no real event or ticket booking.
Rooms Held in Colour
An imagined exhibition brings together six works from Rooms for Colour and Table Studies. Chairs, thresholds, vessels and folds of cloth become a shared vocabulary, connecting domestic space with the expressive possibilities of colour.
The display is conceived as a movement from the scale of a room toward the smaller relationships of a table. Wide intervals between paintings give each image its own presence, while recurring blue and terracotta notes hold the sequence together.
